The History of Dom-Ex
Dom-Ex opened for business in 1982. In response to one of the worst economic recessions, Dom-Ex provided a quality, low cost solution that allowed its customers to extend the useful life of their mining equipment.
With one phone line, two desks and a small line of credit, a former mining equipment salesman and service manager started buying used equipment from companies worldwide, bringing the equipment to Hibbing, Minnesota, dismantling it, repairing the components and remarketing them. Dom-Ex, which stands for domestic and export, quickly found a global market for their products and began serving mining and construction companies around the world.
After nearly 30 years, Dom-Ex continues to supply new, used and refurbished parts and components to customers worldwide. Dom-Ex specializes in replacement parts for off-highway heavy mobile equipment such as haul trucks, loaders, dozers, graders, scrapers, shovels, excavators, compactors and drills. Dom-Ex also specializes in sourcing used and refurbished mining equipment for its customers. If you are looking for quality, used equipment, we can find you the right piece for the job.
Dom-Ex serves mining, quarry and construction customers as well as a diverse supply chain serving the mining industry. The company is located in Northern Minnesota in the heart of the Mesabi Iron Range, home to the world’s largest open pit iron ore mine.
The professionals of Dom-Ex joined H-E Parts International in 2006. H-E Parts International is a group of companies committed to the mining and heavy construction industries. It is our privilege to serve a diverse range of customers from every corner of the globe, and we are proud of the trust our customers place with us.
